Frequently Asked Questions

Phone: 1(833) NTV-HEAL or 1(833) 688-4325

The helpline program operates from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. During after-hours, callers will be directed to our to StrongHearts Native Helpline (1(844)7Native or 1(844) 762-8483).

StrongHearts Native Helpline is a 24/7 safe, confidential, and anonymous domestic and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives, offering culturally appropriate support and advocacy.

The main goal of the Restoring Ancestral Winds Helpline will be to support and collaborate with existing tribal and non-tribal organizations in providing safety support for Native Survivors who are in crisis and need support.

Our helpline offers immediate safety planning, risk assessment, peer support, and local and relevant referrals to any Native American who has been impacted by domestic violence.

RAWI's helpline is specifically culturally appropriate for Native Americans, however, RAWI will serve anyone impacted by domestic and sexual violence.  We will not turn away anyone who needs our services.

Our helpline is a toll-free number created to help the community via telephone

The helpline advocates will answer each call and address the caller's issues.  (e.g., support, safety planning, risk assessment, or service referrals.)

The helpline program will only record information that is given freely by the callers, we will not record any identifying data such as name, phone number, address, employment, social affiliations, etc., unless that information is freely given by the caller and impacts their immediate safety and the ability of the helpline to advocate successfully.

The Helpline is not a central intake unit for adult and child abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Utah law requires any person who has reason to believe that a child has been subjected to abuse, neglect, or dependency to immediately notify the nearest office of the Division of Child and Family Services, a peace officer, or a law enforcement agency. Abuse of a child can be physical, emotional, or sexual. The report must be made by the person receiving the disclosure.

RAWI provides a confidential and secure space for anyone affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, focusing on empowerment-based peer support.
